Commuting

A few notes about commuting:  1) It’s a pain…literally.  When you train every morning and evening, the last thing your body, particularly your hamstrings, wants is to sit in a car for 2 hours each day on top of sitting in an office.  As a marathoner, I’ve learned to get out of the car and do squats every hour coming back from a race to avoid the cramping and dull pain that lasts for days.   After yesterday’s row, commuting was particularly awful.  A friend suggested getting a heating pad for the car – taking this under serious consideration.  Also, amping up my yoga and stretching. (I’m sure I look odd in my office stretching and pacing with my ear piece in to avoid more sitting.)  2) I may be resorting to books on “tape”(does anyone reading this even know what a tape is anymore?).  I have an 11-year-old Toyota Rav4, no fancy XM/Sirius radio, no outlet for an ipod, just AM/FM radio and CD deck.  After a week of commuting, I have discovered there is nothing worth listening to on the radio, and given I’ve purchased a grand total of 5 CDs since 2000, my car has become the best of the 80s and 90s remix.  So I’m taking suggestions for books on tape with the caveat that if you suggest something that puts me to sleep while driving, I will hunt you down and make you do 1000 burpees.  3) Justin Key.  Had to find a way to mention you in here somehow.  So I’ll simply say I promise to no longer point out your whining about commuting around Atlanta everyday.

Bonus Note:  At what time should you leave the Bham office to avoid traffic back to T-town on the Friday before the Alabama-LSU Game?  Answer – wth were you doing going into the office the Friday before the Alabama-LSU game?

Justin "Spider Monkey" Key...for those of you who are wondering who the heck this guy is.
